Three-lobed replica of fibula or needle ornament from Norway. Typical Viking Age. Handmade in bronze.
This Viking brooch shows a motif of intertwined ravens, as they were depicted on a Viking troop, which was found on Rd near Rygge in stfold, Norway, and dates to the ninth century.
The brooch measures 5.5 x 5.5 cm.
On the back you will find a large needle that is thick enough to hold even thick fabrics such as Wadmal. In Viking age, women wore it to close the neckline but also to keep thick woolen tops in place.
